MACK SNOWMack Snows were first to be thought as Co-Dominant. Now after further review, they seem to be Incomplete Dominant. There are three different forms, Super Snows, Mack Snows, and Wild Type. The Super Snows are the homozygous form of the Mack Snow gene. The Mack Snows are the heterozygous form of the Mack Snow gene. The Wild Type do not have the Mack Snow gene and generally look like Normal Leopard Gecko.
SUPER SNOWA Super Snow is the homozygous form of a Mack Snow. When Super Snows hatch, they have purple, charcoal or silver bodies with solid Eclipseeyes. As they grow older, they keep the solid Eclipse eyes, but their bodies turn to a white background with black broken pin stripes.
SUPER SNOW ALBINOA Super Snow Albino is a combination morph of a homozygous incomplete dominant morph and a homozygous recessive morph, the Mack Snow and any of the three albino strains. In appearance, the Super Snow Albinos look similar to Super Snows, but with a few color variations. With the Super Snow Albinos, since Albinos cannot produce black pigments, the eyes are usually a very deep red. The bodies also do not have any black coloring. The stripes on the Super Snow Albino's body will generally be light pink to a tan color.
BLACK HOLEThe Super Snow Enigmas have white bodies with black speckles and solid black eyes. The Eclipse trait typically washes the color out of the legs and nose of the gecko. Genetically, the Super Snow Enigmas are a combination of a homozygous incomplete dominant trait Super Snow the dominant trait Enigma and the Eclipse trait.
TOTAL ECLIPSEA Black Hole is a combination morph of one dominant trait (Enigma), one incomplete dominant trait (Mack Snow), and a recessive trait (Eclipse). The first Black Hole was hatched by A&M Geckos and debuted on Gecko Forums on January 26, 2007. With the Black Holes, the Eclipse trait blocks out the coloring the Enigma trait would show in the eyes so the eyes are a solid black. The body pattern of the Black Hole will vary because of the Enigma trait.
MACK SNOW JUNGLEMack Snows were first to be thought as Co-Dominant. Now after further review, they seem to be Incomplete Dominant. There are three different forms, Super Snows, Mack Snows, and Wild Type.
There are a few distinct features of Mack Snows which normal Leopard Geckos do not express. As hatchlings, they have white bands instead of yellow bands. See the pictures below for comparison. Most Mack Snows will tend to lose their white as it will fade to yellow as they grow older. TREMPER ALBINOTremper Albinos also known as Texas Strain Albinos were the first of the three strains of Albinos to be discovered in 1996 by Ron Tremper. Tremper Albinos can range in colors from dark browns to light yellows, oranges, and pinks. The Tremper Albino eyes tend to be a silver color with red veins.
RAPTORRAPTOR stands for Red-eye Albino Patternless Tremper ORange. A RAPTOR is a Red-Eyed Albino gecko with an orange colored body. They were created by Ron Tremper in 2004. Unlike some morphs such as Blizzards or Enigmas which are random mutations, RAPTORs are a combination morph. They are a combination of the Eclipse morph, Patternless Stripe morph, and the Tremper Albino morph.
MACK SNOW DIABLO BLANCOThe Diablo Blanco is a combination morph created by Ron Tremper in 2006. The Diablo Blanco morph is a combination of the Blizzard trait and the RAPTORs. Essentially, a Diablo Blanco is a combination of 4 recessive traits, Blizzards, Tremper Albinos, Tremper Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. The appearance of the Diablo Blancos is a white bodied Leopard Gecko with solid Red Eyes.
NOVAA Nova is a combination morph of the Enigma trait and the RAPTOR morph. The first Nova debuted on December 30, 2007 on GeckoForums.net. It was produced by A&M Geckos. Along with the Nova, there are a few other morphs which came out of the same project: Dreamsickle (Mack Snow RAPTOR Enigma) and the Super Nova (RAPTOR Super Snow Enigma).
MACK SNOW RAPTORA Mack Snow RAPTOR is a combination of 4 different genetic traits; the Mack Snow, Tremper Albino, Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. Essentially, the Mack snow RAPTOR is a combination of the RAPTOR and the Mack Snow. The ghostly tail is typical in the Mack Snow RAPTOR.
BANDITBandit: AKA Bold/Bandit, Jungle Designer. A Bandit is a designer phase gecko with a distinct broad dark band running across the nose area between the nasal openings and the eyes.
REVERSE STRIPEA Reverse Stripe is a Leopard Gecko whose back pattern consists of a line that starts at the base of the neck ring and runs to the hind legs. The tail looks much like the tail of a Striped Leopard Gecko. Please refer to the picture to the right to see a Reverse Stripe.
BELL ALBINOThe Bell Albino (also less commonly called the Florida Albino) is the newest of the three Leopard Gecko Albino Strains and was discovered by Mark Bell. The eyes of the Bell Albinos is the easiest way to tell them apart from the other two strains. Their eyes are a light pink color. Th body tends to have brown spots. Bell Albinos can also express a lavender color on their bodies.
RAINWATER ALBINOAfter several seasons of crossing our Hot Geckos line of tangerine leopard geckos into the rainwater (aka Las Vegas) line of albinos, we produced in 2006 a handful of individuals that stood out. They were the albino equivalent of that small percent of exceptional examples you get when line-breeding for deep orange. Like many nonalbino tangerines, firewater clutches usually consist of one banded animal with distinct head patterning and one baldy with a solid body color. As adults, firewaters range from solid orange with varying amounts of carrot tail to orange and blue-lavender. We’ve tried all breeding combinations, but breeding het to het still produces the most intensely colored offspring, Dan and Roxanne Lubinsky, Hot Geckos Inc.
ENIGMA
An Enigma is a Leopard Gecko which is a dominant morph. When classifying an Enigma, there are a few common features which all Enigmas seem to have. When they hatch out, their spots tend to be blotches rather than bands. When looking at their tails, the tails are almost all white. As they grow older, the spotting increases and sometimes turns into speckles.
GHOSTGhosts or Hypo Ghosts belong to the "old school" colourmorphs. They have extremly faded colors and a greatly reduced dark pigmentation. These morph will show its true colors after they reach a size of 5 to 6 inches. Pure ghosts are hard to recognize as hatchlings. However, for the experienced breeder Mack Snow Ghost- hatchlings can be easily seperated from their normal MackSnow-clutchmates due to their lighter dark brown or dark violet colouration that develops into a "coffe&cream"-contrast within the next sheds..
BOLD STRIPE
A Bold Stripe Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko where the pattern runs along its sides. Genetically, Bold Stripes are thought to be Line Bred although some say they are recessive. After many years of outcrossing Bold Stripes to Normals, it has been concluded that this morph is an Incomplete Recessive. which means that this morph's mode of inheritance can vary throughout the bloodline.
STRIPE
A Stripe Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko whose body pattern is striped longitudinally, from head to tail, rather than laterally, from side to side. The stripe begins at the neck ring, often with the neck ring broken, and runs all the way down to the tail. From there, the tail bands are not solid, but broken. The longitudinal stripe may continue the length of the tail as well.
JUNGLE
A Jungle Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko whose body and tail pattern are irregular. The body pattern will have broken or incomplete bands; the tail will not be banded, and will feature broken or absent bands.
S.H.T.C.T.S.H.T.C.T. stands for Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail. Leopard Geckos in this category, have no body spots and at least a 15% Carrot Tail. They also must have Tangerine color on their bodies.
SUNGLOW
A Snowglow is a combination morph of 3 traits: the Mack Snow gene, Albino gene (Any one of the three,Bell, Rainwater, or Tremper), and a SHTCT. The end result is a Snowglow. The desired look of a Snowglow is a white gecko with a light orange/yellow hue to it.
BLAZZING BLIZZARDA Blazing Blizzard is a combination of the Blizzard morph and any of the 3 Albino strains. A Blazing Blizzard is a Blizzard which will have more of a yellow coloring. The eyes will also look like the eyes of its respective albino strain.
BLIZZARDThe Blizzard morph, discovered by Jay Villa of Prehistoric Pets in 1995, is very similar to the Murphy Patternless morph. Like the Murphy Patternless morph, the Blizzard morph is a simple recessive morph. As hatchlings, Blizzards are completely patternless and their colors will vary from white, to yellow, to a deep purple. As they grow older, most change within the color scale mentioned previously.
PATTERLESSA patternless is a leopard gecko with little or no pattern on its body. Young patternless leopard geckos start out with many large spots on its back, but as they age, these spots fade away.
